Double recognition for DEME at the 2024 Brownfield Awards! Our Environmental team secured two top spots at yesterday’s awards ceremony in Manchester.

🥇 First place: “Special 20th Anniversary Award for Most Significant UK Remediation or Regeneration Project” for the Avenue Coking Works in Chesterfield, once one of Europe’s most contaminated sites. The scale and complexity of the remediation works were unprecedented. By using advanced remediation techniques, DEME and its partners transformed this site into a safe and vibrant space for people to live and work.

🥈 Second place: “Best Project Preparatory Work” for the remediation of the Bowling oil terminal in Scotland, in partnership with ExxonMobil, the West Dunbartonshire Council, and WSP. Early contractor involvement allowed the team to develop a forward-thinking remediation strategy to address significant hydrocarbon contamination while aligning with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
